Floating Sea Otters

A fan design that received 10,000+ votes on LEGO Ideas: two sea otters floating on their backs holding paws (the "raft" pose for which sea otters are known). Built on a blue water base plate with seaweed details and kelp.

1,234 pieces, ~30×40 cm in surface area. The otters themselves are detail-rich: brown fur texture via stacked tiles, white snout and belly, and the typical otter tail. The paws hold each other — a biologically correct behaviour that sea otters use in the wild to avoid drifting apart.
