How Lakea works
Lakea is an independent LEGO® price comparator that collects prices from dozens of retailers daily and tracks historical price developments. This page explains exactly how that works — and where the limits of our data are.

These counters come live from our database.
Where the prices come from
- Official product feeds and APIs from retailers and their partner networks — the same data sources retailers publish for price comparators.
- For a small number of shops without a usable feed, we run our own automated price checks on their public product pages.
- Per country we only show shops that actually deliver there; where shipping costs are known, you can compare prices including shipping.
How often we measure
- The busiest sources are checked every 15 to 60 minutes; others every few hours; a handful of shops once a day.
- Set information (new sets, names, end-of-life dates) refreshes every 10 minutes via Brickset.
- Around LEGO release moments we measure extra often, so new sets and prices appear immediately.
What we record
- The current price and stock status per shop, per country.
- Every measurement feeds the price history per set — so you can see whether a "deal" is genuinely special.
- The lowest price ever per set, plus the moment a shop sets a new all-time low.
- Recommended retail prices (RRP) per region, so discounts are calculated against the right reference.
Where the set information comes from
- Set data (names, themes, piece counts, end-of-life dates and images) via Brickset.
- Parts lists from the official LEGO building instructions, complemented with Rebrickable catalog data.
- Minifigure market values are BrickLink-derived values as published by Brickset.
Honest about the limits
- Our price history starts on 6 April 2026. We never claim more history than we have measured ourselves.
- For Amazon and eBay we only show the current price — no history. That is a condition of those partner programmes, and we stick to it.
- Lakea sells nothing itself. Every purchase runs directly through the shop. On how we earn: see our affiliate disclosure.
