1. What Lakea is

Lakea.net is an independent price comparison site for LEGO®. We don’t sell anything ourselves. For each set you see the prices at shops that deliver to your country, the price history and the set details. When you pick a shop, that shop’s page opens in a new tab; you buy there, under that shop’s terms. With a free account you can set price alerts that you receive by email.

2. The standard we follow

We build and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That includes WCAG 2.1 level AA, the version the European standard EN 301 549 refers to.

3. What you can expect

• Every page starts with a Skip to content link, so you can skip the menu.
• You can use the site with a keyboard and see where the focus is (exceptions are listed in section 5). Windows such as the filters, the shop picker and the photo viewer take the focus with them, keep it while they are open and give it back when you close them; Escape closes them.
• For each shop, the price table tells a screen reader the set price, the price including shipping, the discount, whether shipping costs are estimated and whether the shop has the set out of stock.
• Pages have headings, named menus and buttons with a name. The number of search results and messages such as "link copied" are read out. After you follow a link to another page, you hear the new page title.
• We aim for a contrast of at least 4.5:1 for text and at least 3:1 for button borders. We measure a colour against the lightest background it appears on.
• If you have turned on "reduce motion" in your system, animations and smooth scrolling are off.
• When you log in you can paste and use a password manager. There is no puzzle or CAPTCHA.

4. How we check this

On 17 September 2026 we tested 30 pages with axe-core, a program that automatically checks pages against the WCAG rules. We also went through the homepage, the set overview, a set page, the promotions and logging in using only the keyboard and in a screen reader’s view. With every new version of the site, an automated test checks the most important pages against these rules again.

An automated test doesn’t find everything. That’s why we want to hear where you get stuck (see section 6).

5. What is not right yet

• The price chart shows the exact date and price only when you move your mouse or finger over the line. The same data is directly below it in the Price changes and Lowest measured per shop tables.
• Some text is only in Dutch, even if you chose another language: among other places in a set’s parts list, on your account page and in the camera scanner for minifigures. A screen reader then reads that text with the pronunciation of your language.
• The camera scanner for minifigures is not yet easy to use with a screen reader.
• Shop pages, images from shops and from Brickset, and the official LEGO building instructions (PDF) are outside our control. How accessible they are is up to the shop or the maker.
