GWP — gift with purchase

GWP stands for Gift With Purchase: a free LEGO set you receive with a purchase above a threshold or with specific sets — exclusively at lego.com. GWPs are usually small themed sets (50-200 pieces) not sold separately.

How it works

LEGO runs a promo for a period (often a week or ten days) with conditions like "Order €100+ in Star Wars and receive free 30654 X-wing Mini-build". At checkout the gift appears in your cart, provided you meet the threshold and stock lasts.

Why collectors track these

GWPs are limited — once the promo ends or stock runs out, you can only buy them second-hand on BrickLink. Some popular GWPs (like seasonal sets with minifigs) double or triple in value within months.

Lakea tip

Keep an eye on LEGO's "deals" page or sign up for the VIP newsletter; GWPs are often announced to VIP members first.
